That dashed line back to the supplier is the bit no platform handles for you. Plots usually fail because nobody ever recorded the coordinate. Chasing that needs a specific question sent to a specific person, which is slow, and it is most of the work.

Plot data remediation

We check the coordinate range, the precision and the projection. Then the faults that hide: axes entered the wrong way round, nulls logged as 0,0, one plot recorded twice by two collectors. Polygons get their rings closed and their winding order corrected.

Screening and human review

Plot-level screening on the 2020 cut-off using FAO Whisp with Sentinel and Landsat. A person reads every flag, because dense agroforestry looks like forest to a classifier.

Four hectares changes everything

Up to four hectares, one coordinate pair does the job. Past that the regulation wants the whole boundary. Getting this wrong is expensive precisely because you only find out late, and by then somebody has to walk the plot again.

It is also the fault our diagnostic turns up most often, usually in files that look complete at a glance.

Your origin country decides your obligation

Not your own country. This is the point most operators get wrong, in both directions.

Simplified due diligence gets read as an exemption. It is not one. Both branches land on the same box, because the coordinates are owed wherever you buy from. What falls away is the assessment sitting on top of them.

A fit

  • You are the operator, first placing goods on the EU market
  • Medium or large, so December 2026 applies
  • Coffee, cocoa, palm oil, soya or timber
  • Smallholder or cooperative supply, where data arrives fragmented
  • No geospatial function in-house

Not a fit

  • Cattle hides, leather and vulcanised rubber, all removed from Annex I in 2026
  • Organisations with an established GIS team
  • Anyone wanting software to run themselves. Good ones exist and we will name them
  • Anyone wanting a guarantee of deforestation-free, or their declaration filed for them. We do neither.

A structural screen, not a compliance determination. It does not evaluate interior rings, and does not test self-intersection above 2,000 positions. Where that limit is reached it says so rather than passing the plot silently.

Data, and the question you were going to ask

Smallholder coordinates tied to named producers count as personal data, and we are based in India, which has no EU adequacy decision. You were going to ask. Here is the answer.

  • EU-hosted by default, so for EU clients the data never leaves the EU
  • Processor under Article 28, on your DPA or on ours
  • Standard Contractual Clauses where any transfer would occur
  • No sub-processors
  • Deletion by default, thirty days after handover
  • Your NDA first, before anything is sent

  • Free rework on any plot we certified clean that is later rejected for that defect
